Lumberjack

The sawmill in Paleto Forest is marked on the map. Anyone can work there — no job needed. You work alone or in a team of up to four.

1. Walk up to the man by the office and open the menu (Left Alt on him)
2. To work as a team, the leader invites the others from the menu — they must be close by, and they must accept the invitation
3. The leader starts the job, and the company's log truck with a crane is ready
4. The trees to cut down are marked on the map and in the forest with an orange pillar of light. Cut down a tree with Left Alt on it — it gives three logs
5. Load the logs onto the truck with the crane: walk up to the remote control on the truck and press E. The keys are shown on screen while you operate the crane

Your team's logs have a yellow ring under the middle, and the middle is where the crane grabs. While you operate the crane, a white ring on the ground shows where the hook is. When a log's ring turns green, the hook is right above it — lower it until the log glows green, and grab.

You cannot cut down a tree while someone else is standing close by, and no more than 12 logs may lie on the ground before you load them.

What to do with the logs

A full load is 60 logs. You can sell them raw, saw them into planks at the sawmill (eight logs make a pallet) or chip them. Planks and chips pay more, but processing takes time. The places to sell are marked on the map, and the price depends on where you sell.

Wage

When the goods are sold, the leader drives the company truck back to the marker at the sawmill and ends the job. The wage goes to your bank account. You only get paid if you are standing with the leader when the job ends.

In a team, each of you gets the full value of the run when the wage is split evenly. The leader can move the percentages in the menu, but nobody gets more than the full value of the run.

If you come back without the company truck, it costs a fine of 500 kr. It is taken from the wage first.
