Rules & roleplay
Vehicles
B – Seatbelt
J – Crash helmet (motorcycles and bicycles only)
F9 – Car radio
R – Roof up and down on a convertible (driver only)
Lock: aim at the car with Left Alt and pick Lock car or Unlock car. Motorcycles and bicycles cannot be locked.
Keys: you automatically get the keys to the vehicles you own. Give someone else the keys with /givnøgler [id].
Trunk: aim at the car and press K. Doors, windows and seats are in the radial menu (Z).
Crash helmet
On a motorcycle or bicycle, press J (or type /hjelm) to put your helmet on and take it off.
Your choice is remembered: if you ride with a helmet, it goes back on automatically the next time you get on — and it stays on through the entire crash if things go wrong.
Crashing without a helmet hurts a lot more. This only applies to real crashes above 30 km/h — tipping over at walking pace does no extra damage, and a helmet is no protection against bullets.
On two wheels the speedometer shows a helmet lamp: red when you ride without one, green when it is on. It replaces the seatbelt lamp, since there is no belt to fasten on two wheels.
Garage & vehicles
The garages are on the map. Open the garage with E at the marker – it takes 20 seconds to get the car out. Moving a car to another garage costs 500 kr.
Bays: most garages only take cars that stand in a bay. Put the car in a bay and get out – that buys an hour at a time. A car in a bay is locked and can't be damaged, and you take it out with Left Alt on the car.
On the street you park with the phone app – see Parking & fines.
Once you have been logged off for 30 minutes, your cars are driven home. A car that is not parked ends up in the impound lot – see The impound lot.
