Rules & roleplay
Worth knowing, whichever side of the law you are on.
Wheel clamp – one wheel is locked and the car can do at most 15 km/h. Only an officer can remove it, and it stays on even if the car goes into a garage.
GPS tracker – the police can hide a tracker in a vehicle and follow it on the map. Anyone can search a vehicle with Left Alt (it takes 8 seconds), and if you find a tracker, it is destroyed. The battery lasts 30 minutes.
Drug test – a joint or cocaine can be detected for an hour. If you are not cuffed, you are asked, and you can say no.
Radar – measures speed and reads the plate. It never issues a fine by itself.
Megaphone – an officer in an emergency vehicle can talk to you through the megaphone from up to 40 metres away.
Battering ram – the police can break open locked doors, but not the doors of homes.
