Rules & roleplay
The quarry at Davis Quartz is marked on the map. Anyone can work there — no job needed.
- Clock in with the shift boss by the office (Left Alt on him)
- Buy a pickaxe from the crate next to him — cash or card. The pickaxe lasts one shift and wears down with every swing
- Walk up to a rock and press E at one of its ores to mine it
- Carry the ore to the conveyor and press E to put it on
- The conveyor gives you raw ore. Wash it at the washer by the container at the end of the conveyor — that gives stones, crystals and metal ore
Careful: mining has a small minigame. Fail it and the rock collapses — you take damage and fall over, the ore is lost, and the pickaxe wears extra.
The smelter
Iron, copper and silver ore and gold nuggets are smelted into bars at the smelter in Cypress Flats (marked on the map). A bar takes three of the ore and one coal ore as fuel, and it is worth more than the ore. You drive the ore there yourself.
Blasting
From level 5 the foreman sells dynamite. The quarry's blasting zone has large rock formations: place the dynamite and get clear before the fuse burns out — stand too close and you take damage and fall over. The crater is full of raw ore that anyone on duty can collect. The formation grows back after a quarter of an hour.
Selling
The ore buyer takes stones, crystals, metal ore and bars — not raw ore. The price drops the more of the same item is sold in a short time, and slowly recovers; the sell menu shows the current price.
Levels
Every ore gives experience. The quarry has three tiers: anyone can use the lowest, the middle one needs level 3 and the innermost level 6. The higher your level, the better the chance of extra yield, and better pickaxes add more. /minestat shows or hides your level.
Quests
The quarry foreman hands out quests. They count the ore you put on the conveyor and pay wages to your bank when done. The daily quest can be done once a day.
Crew quests are done together: whoever starts the quest invites nearby miners, and everything the crew puts on the conveyor counts. Everyone in the crew gets paid.
Leaderboard
By the office you can see the leaderboard of today's, this month's and all-time best miners. The top three of the day and of the month get a prize when the day or month ends — if you are offline, you get it the next time you log in.
