Rules & roleplay

This is for officers on duty. Everyone is welcome to read it — it is worth knowing what

you are up against.

The plate scanner

Patrol cars scan by themselves. If you are on duty and sitting behind the wheel of a

police vehicle, every plate around you is read automatically every few seconds.

If a plate is wanted, three things happen:

  • You get a message with the plate and the reason
  • A red cone hovers over that exact car, so you can tell which one it is in traffic
  • A blip is placed on the map that follows the car

Only you see the cone and the blip. The other officers on duty get an alert with a

marker at the location — the rest you have to give them over the radio. That is

deliberate: a lone officer should call for backup, not assume everyone sees the same

thing.

The marking lasts as long as the scanner can see the car. If it drives off, the cone

fades after a few seconds and you have to find the car again. The alert itself, on the

other hand, does not repeat within 90 seconds per car, so the radio does not drown in

the same vehicle.

  • /anprauto – turn your own scanner off and on
  • /anpr – scan manually where you stand, on foot too. /anpr 60 for a wider radius

Flagging plates

  • /flagplate <plate> <reason> – flag a plate as wanted
  • /unflagplate <plate> – clear it
  • /plateinfo <plate> – look a plate up

Cars stolen from the impound yard are flagged automatically and become clean again once

the debt is paid.

Impounding

Hold Left Alt on a vehicle and choose impound. You pick the lot, the reason and a

time lock of 0-7 days.

The car then sits physically in the yard at Mission Row, where it can be stolen back

— see The impound lot. The time lock only blocks the legal route.

Two things you cannot impound: a car that is already impounded, and a car legally parked

in a bay. Both are display dummies, not real cars.
