Rules & roleplay
Homes for sale are spread across the map — houses in Vinewood, Mirror Park, Paleto, Sandy Shores and plenty of other places.
How to buy
Walk up to the door and hold Left Alt.
- View House shows the price and the type of home and opens the contract
- Show House lets you walk around inside for a minute before you decide
You pay in cash or by card (the card has to be on you – using someone else's card, you need their PIN). If something goes wrong during the purchase, you get your money back. The flats in the apartment blocks cannot be bought yet.
A home another player has put up for sale is bought the same way at the door: you pay the player's price plus the usual fees, and the furniture comes with it. The seller's name is on the contract, and you both have to sign: you sign first, then the seller — who has to be on the server and standing with you — signs. The money is only taken once the seller has signed. If you want to look inside first, arrange it with the owner.
In and out
Hold Left Alt at the door and choose Enter House. The way out is by the door on the inside. You have the home to yourself — others only see it if they have access. If you get stuck, type /boligud.
The housing menu opens with F3 while you are in your home. This is where you decorate, hand out keys and set the storage and wardrobe points — stand where the point should be and press the button.
Keys
- Give Keys makes another character a keyholder. They have to be standing close to you. A keyholder can go in, decorate and use the storage, but can neither sell the home nor pass keys on. You can take a keyholder's access away again — if they are inside, they are put outside.
- Create Key makes a house key for yourself or one of your keyholders. It costs 500 kr. in cash and sits in your pockets as an item that can be handed over, lost or stolen. It only opens the door. It only works as long as the person it was made for still has access — if they lose that access, the key stops working, no matter who is holding it.
Decorating
Choose Decorate House in the housing menu. You buy furniture from the catalogue, and the price is taken from your bank account. Furniture is moved and rotated with the arrows. Only one person can decorate at a time.
The furniture belongs to the home: it stays where it is when you log off. Only the owner can sell a piece of furniture back, and you get 30 % of its price. A cupboard or a chest has to be empty before it can be sold.
Storage and wardrobe
The home has its own storage, and some pieces of furniture have their own. The owner, keyholders and a tenant can open them while they are inside the home. You can change clothes at the wardrobe.
Renting out
Type /lejemaal at or inside the home. You choose the tenant (a player close to you), the amount and how often it is due, and the tenant has to accept. The rent arrives as a bill from Zorix Bank that the tenant can pay — also a bit at a time — and the money goes to your account.
If a rent bill is still unpaid 3 days after it arrived, the tenant cannot get in until it is paid. The home is never taken from the tenant on its own — putting the tenant out is the landlord's own choice.
Selling
Open the housing menu with F3. Only the owner can sell, and the home's storage and storage furniture have to be empty.
- Sell House To Bank sells the home to the state straight away. You get 50 % of the home's price and 30 % of the furniture's price, and the furniture is removed. A rented-out home cannot be sold to the state — end the lease first.
- Sell House To Player puts the home up for sale at a price you choose. It shows as for sale on the map, and others can buy it at the door; the money goes to your bank account. The furniture and any lease go with it, but your keyholders and house keys do not. Cancel Sell House takes it off the market again.
If there are cars in the home's garage whose owners no longer have access, they are moved to the nearest public garage.
